A true backcountry ski trip, the Tomamu explorer allows skiers and splitboarders alike to enjoy an uninterrupted 7 days/ 6 nights in some of the last remaining untouched wilderness of Hokkaido. Daily riding missions will be based around capitalising on the consistently cold dry snow littered around the surrounding hills of Tomamu and the northern Hidaka range.
We spend a day or two at the fantastic Tomamu Resort and sidecountry areas if the powder is right. If the resort is tracked out, we explore some of the incredible backcountry area in the surrounding ranges.

Tour Grading
No you don’t have to be a Skimo athlete to jump in on this tour, nor do we expect you to arrive with a rope and harness in tow. To join one of our Tomamu Explorer tours you should be an advanced to expert downhill rider, meaning comfortable riding everything in and around your local ski resort. You should have some experience in the backcountry, ideally 10+ days of ski touring on routes that gain more than 800 metres of vertical per day.
